In 2018, conversational AI firm SmartAction hired me as COO with the goal of improving project delivery for clients such as AAA, DSW, Royal Caribbean, and more. After reshaping the Engineering and Project teams into an Agile group, assembling a top-tier Product team, and reducing delivery times by 40%, I was promoted to CEO, within a year of my hiring.
As CEO during the pandemic, I reduced operating costs by 35%, pivoted to a fully remote workforce, oversaw 10% revenue growth, achieved positive EBITDA, and moved headquarters to the emerging tech hub of Fort Worth, TX. Believing the best people make the best companies, I reshaped the Senior Management Team and the employee base at SmartAction. Without directive or bias, my SMT was 2/3 female, and the employee base grew more diverse in both ethnicity and gender.
